The SCB Material (Swedish Church Records from 1860) has been published as GIDx content in the Swedish Church Records archive. This means that it is now much easier to locate a parish in a SCB sequence by using a GIDx search within GFF2.4.

Navigate the SCB material using the SCB Registers!
genline has made available SCB Registers thanks to contributions from some of our customers and members of the association DIS (Föreningen för Datorhjälp i Släktforskningen). The SCB material which primarily consists of Births, Marriages and Deaths information is considered to be rather difficult to work with so using the SCB Registers can help you to quickly find the Parish and the Genline ID number (GID#) that you are looking for.
How do you use the SCB Registers?
These registers have been provided to genline in various file formats. If you cannot open a particular file you can download the program(s) needed to view these files from the links located at the bottom of this page.
Read the SCB Registers in Excel (xls) format as follows:
Column A heading provides you with the first numerical group of the GID# or County: for example 100021 for Gävleborgs County.
The Church Record Type and Year column headings to the right give you the second numerical group of the GID#. In this example Births (Födde — Fbu) 1860 would be 16. You now have two parts of the GID#: 100021.16. The third numerical group is required to complete the GID#.
Following the 1860 Births column down to the parish you are interested in will give you the third part of the GID#. In this example Högbo parish has the image number 44800.
The GID# is now complete: 10021.16.44800. Now you can enter the GID# directly in the GID text box in Genline FamilyFinder (GFF) and come directly to the image that contains this Parish information.
Note: The SCB Registers and the Hjo-Tibro Genealogical Societies web site contain content in the Swedish language.
